Here’s what I hope will come out of the upcoming White Dwarf 455  for Age of Sigmar.

White Dwarf 455 will be hitting the shelves soon, and it’s bringing a ton of exciting stuff to the table for Age of Sigmar. Here’s a bit about what we know based on the Community article and the cover shot, and what I hope some of the other stuff means

Squigs!

Squigs have always been an integral part of Greenskin armies, even more so with the recent Gloomspite Gitz battletome release. With the new Tome Celestial, players can bring the savage Jaws of Mork allegiance to the table. According to the preview, this faction takes the Greenskin obsession with Squigs to an unprecedented and toothy level, complete with abilities, artefacts, and army traits. We don’t have any inclination of what that might be yet, but I’m hoping it will be something to increase the chances of the squig attacking back, or maybe provide some dedicated buffs to Mangler Squig or Giant Squig Loonbosses.

With the box set heroes available now, it’s the perfect time to pump up the juice on the Giant Squig Loonboss, and hopefully we’ll get a “special character” option like in previous Tome Celestials to create a real powerhouse leader for the army and justify taking it over a Mangler Squig. I’m not a Gitz player myself, but I have several friends who are, and I’m excited to see what sorts of terrifying creations they’ll be able to concoct with the new rules.

Tzeentch

We’re also getting a section called Realm of Chaos: Tzeentch, which could be all sorts of fun things. We could get a paint splatter for how to paint Tzeentch warriors, a new set of Realm Rules for playing under Tzeentch’s control, or some new battalions for Tzeentch-themed armies. Tzeentch has seen a lot of love in recent FAQs and with the new book, so more info or options could only be a good thing. As a dedicated follower of the Changer of Ways, even new lore would be fun, and would help me (and probably others) better flesh out what sort of army and paint scheme I want to go with. It could also be fun to see some Realm of Battle rules where Tzeentch alters the battlefield and offers a special artefact of power to enterprising or foolish heroes, for a price of course. Regardless of what we get, I’m excited to add the info, tips, or new rules to my existing Arcanite army.
