Can the Adeptus Custodes build the cheapest solid armylist in Warhammer 40K! Take a look – it’s golden!

Goatboy here, and when I read one of the Adeptus Custodes detachment, I thought to myself – I think we can make the cheapest army we can in 40K!  The reason we can do this is to emphasize the whole theme of – “characters matter” in this detachment.  This means utilizing the best “single model” characters we can to create an Adeptus Custodes list designed to run around, be annoying to remove, and give up a crap ton of Assassination points.

Alright, so as you know we’ll be building “the Cheapest Custodes” list based on the Auric Champions Detachment.  It can have a bunch of character units that can do potent stuff.  They fly around and just are a pain in the butt.  So with that, let’s throw the armylist out there and then lets see how much it could cost.

Tactics & Army Costs

This is a pretty simple list again you got a ton of characters that are tougher than normal, can move around, and score things.  Again you are going to dump a ton on Assassination but if they take that one just know you are going to play the primary and your tactical secondary.

But let’s see if we can build it out in kits.

You need

Trajann – $45.00
Combat Patrol – $160.00
Prosecutor Box – $60.00
Custodian Guard – $60.00
Vertus Praetors Box – $60.00
Callidus Assassin – $35.00

Cost total is $420.00 which isn’t too bad by 40K standards.  If you go look for the old Custodes Combat Patrol it syncs up perfectly and lets you build almost the entire thing but Trajann and the Assassin.  But at $420 full price, without discounts and you have a playable army.  It should play fast, play easy enough, and let you try your hardest with a difficult to win with army.

Plus this could be a pretty dope looking Muscle Mommie army with a few head swaps and o their fun bits and pieces.  Oh and it lets you get to use a box of Bikes – which we all have somewhere if we ever played Adeptus Custodes.

For the Emperor (and your budget)!
