Yep, we knew this was coming as GW announced the range reduction and the big shift of the Beastmen out of the Mortal Realms. If you are a Beast of Chaos player you’ve got your Battletome for AoS 4.0 that will be legal for Matched Play for a full year.
Chaos Unleashed
This is a big update for every army out there. Sure, we got a teaser from the Faction Focus articles but this is really the opening of the flood gates. If you’re curious what’s actually in a Faction Pack, I covered that yesterday. Basically, it’s all the Warscrolls, army rules, lores, artefacts of power, Spearhead info, and more that you need to actually play your faction.
Another reason that this is such a big deal is because now we’ve got both Order and Chaos Faction Packs to play with. So, if you’re like me and didn’t play any Order armies, you were waiting for this pack to actually see how your armies would work. And I must say things aren’t quite what I expected…but not in a bad way.
I would highly recommend taking a good look at all your Warscrolls for your units. If you’re like me and threw together an army list based just on points then you’re going to want to take a really close look at your warscrolls for those units now. There might be some abilities you didn’t expect. Or there could be some synergies you didn’t know would be there. It’s a new edition so take your time and really read your rules.
It’s time to finally call upon the Chaos Gods and once again march to war on the Eight Realms!
