It looks like Games Workshop had another profit-smashing year. The final numbers are “not less than £200 million” for 2023/24.

The Games Workshop annual report is coming out on July 30, 2024. With that, they put out statement yesterday to chum the financial waters a bit. And things are looking quite chummy

Games Workshop is pleased to announce that for the 53 weeks ended 2 June 2024, we estimate the Group’s core revenue to be not less than £490 million (2022/23: £445 million) and licensing income of £30 million (2022/23: £25 million). The Group’s profit before tax (“PBT”) is estimated to be not less than £200 million (2022/23: £171 million).

As in the prior year, in recognition of our staff’s contribution to these results and included within the PBT estimate above, we have paid during the year Group Profit Share cash payments, amounting in total to £18 million (2022/23: £11 million). These are paid in cash on an equal basis to each member of staff. Dividends declared and paid in the year were £138 million, 420 pence per share (2022/23: declared and paid £136 million, 415 pence per share).

We intend to announce our 2024 Annual Report for the 53 weeks ended 2 June 2024 on 30 July 2024.

The key takeaways here are that last year (fiscal year 2022/23) Games Workshop reported revenue of £445 million and a profit before tax of £171 million. This year (fiscal year 2023/24) they are estimating they had revenue of “not less than £490 million” and made a profit before tax of “not less than £200 million.” These aren’t the final numbers but they will be at least that amount.

Again, their annual financial report is due out July 30th and should have a much more detailed breakdown. However that shakes out they are in the black by a wide margin. Games Workshop is bringing in more money than last year (revenue is up) and made more profit year-over-year, too. Those are all good signs for them and their employees who are looking to get a bonus this year as well.

Estimated revenues of at least £490 million and an estimated pre-tax profit of at least £200 million…yeah that’s a good year.
