Baltimore is next week… What my happy butt is playing
As I have stated before, I am planning on throwing down with my ork army. When I played in Las Vegas I threw down with an all Nurgle list, trying to abuse the evil of Epidemius. I had 5 great games, losing out in any objective based game due to the fact I have a hard time with vehicles. I’ve since then tweaked my Daemon list and feel I have something that would be more competitive, but I am not taking that list. I will write that up later on this week with pics for those interested.
So for Baltimore I decided to bring a green horde. I know I am the BOLS ork player, so I thought I should bust out some orks. I will write up a batrep with pics. If my camera doesn’t mess up. If it does, then I will pretend there are pics and still talk about the games. So yeah, for those going to play in Baltimore, look for the guys who are freezing since there is a group of us coming from Texas where winter is 60 degrees and breezy.
But onto the list. I like to post lists before hand, because the metagame of 40k is something that isn’t as fluid as you can see in other games. The biggest thing is the change of 4th edition lists to 5th edition lists. You can see this, in the push for Troops as well as the use of above average strength flamers etc. Also you can see this in the rise of Land Raiders.

The thought here is to utilize the orks ability to have lots of large scoring units mixed in with the idea that the squads in front can give 4+ cover saves to the dudes in the back. I would set up in blocks of boyz, with slugga/choppa in the front and shootas following behind to pour on fire. The smaller nob squad is there to just give a pile of hurt to anything that needs a good amount of PK attacks. The two warbosses allow me to pass off lascannons, melta fire, etc and not have something auto explode.
The plan is just to swarm enemies and keep up the threat of a big swarm of boyz. Lootas are there to take out light armor (falcons, rhinos, dreadnoughts, etc). On the lootas, just remember that they are a great use to remove light vehicles and small elite squads as well as MC creatures that Daemons can throw down. If you see a 3 land raider army, well look for an uphill battle. Just hope they don’t have a lot of dudes to throw at your large squads.
But yeah, this is the list, I have a magnetic board they all stick on and everything is painted. I even have two objective markers created and can use. I am ready for this weekend, I just hope my fellow Austin gamers are ready too. I’ve already had to quickly paint a defiler/soul grinder for one guy this weekend. Pics of it are below.
