Goatboy’s 40k List thoughts – Doom Bringer or The Ultimate Brain Fart!
Goatboy here again – looking at throwing down a Tyranid list that hopes to have some chance to use and abuse the Doom of Malan… Mala… Mackda… JerkFace! So lets look at a list that strives to bust open tanks and let the juice meat inside get mind fried by the Doom as it falls from the sky.
This is a 2000 point list as there are a lot of things to fit in here.
HQ: Tyranid Prime, Boneswords, Scything Talons
Elite: Hive Guard X 3
Elite: The Doom of JerkFace, Mycetic Spore
Elite: Zoanthropes X 3, Mycetic Spore
Troops: Tervigon, Catalyst, Toxin Sacks
Troops: Tervigon, Catalyst, Toxin Sacks
Troops: Termagaunts X 10
Troops: Termagaunts X 10
Troops: Genestealers X 20, Scything Talons
Fast: Harpy, TWL Heavy Venom Cannon
Fast: Harpy, TWL Heavy Venom Cannon
Heavy: Tyrannofex, Rupture Cannon
So there you have it. I add in ways to pop vehicles as well as a large – central troop unit that can help give cover saves behind as well as just be an annoyance. The hope is the Doom falls down and gets a chance to suck down some units.
The other thoughts would be to find another way to get another Tyrannofex but I think the 2 Harpies are needed as well as the large amount of Genestealers to make an assault based army rethink its position. One Tervigon regenerates the Stealers and the other tries to keep the Hive Guard alive. You can dump the Warrior with the Stealers or with the Hive Guard as another wound purse to store the pain that comes its way.
