Its list time and this week here is my latest marine recipe. BigRed has been playing with a variant and I think it has some merit. Give it a shot if you want to play something a bit more aggressive that works well with those players who like to set it at “11”.

ThunderPunch! – the newest flavor of Goatboy Koolaid from BOLS

HQ: Lysander
HQ: Librarian, Terminator Armor, Storm Shield, Gate of Infinity, Null Zone
Elites: Assault Terminators X 10, Th/SS
Elites: Dreadnought, ML
Elites: Dreadnought, ML
Troops: Tactical Marines X 10, Meltagun, Multi-Melta, Combi-melta, Drop Pod, Locator Beacon
Troops: Tactical Marines X 10, Flamer, ML, Powerfist, Rhino

FA: Land Speeder, Typhoon ML, MM

Fits right at 1850.

You drop the First Pod up in the middle – it gives you a good middle ground if you need to gate back during your 2nd + turn or just if you teleport in to fortify your center (Fixed for the Internets!). From there you should be able to have a strong center as your other elements move around and get to the business of holding objectives or being annoying in some other way. I added the MM on the speeders as you needed a bit more to ensure you can pop a vehicle as needed.

The Dreadnoughts are basically your bouncers for the ThunderPunch club. They move up with the Rhinos and provide some much needed muscle in case of any opponent shenanigans. The large squad of Terminators means you can ignore your opponents ML most of the time and just go about showing them the power of your ThunderPunch and all its awesome tropical flavor sensations.

And people say the Space Marine codex sucks… What is your favorite SM build that you use to deal with all the latest codices out there?
