Goatboy’s 40k Thoughts – Xmas Wishes!!!
Goatboy here again – with some Xmas Wishes I want to see in the coming year. So without further ado – lets get on Santas lap, hope I don’t pee myself with excitement, and start with my own wish list.
Wish # 1 – A Space Marine army with Storm Shield/Relic Blade Terminators – Space Knights of DOOM!
Doesn’t that sound awesome. They charge into battle like some crazy knights and go all strength 6 into your business. I know I can sorta do that with Space Wolves right now – but still it isn’t nearly as cool as just having it starting out. Maybe the Black Templars will get it and they get to be all mad when they charge in.
Wish # 2 – Another Xenos Codex comes out – maybe Evil Robots or Commie Smurfs.
We got two Xenos books out last year – maybe this next year we can get two more. We keep hearing about the Robots and I hope they do come out. I have always liked their look and with the rumors of plastic Immortals (how much do you want to bet they will be even better) and other goodies should make for a cool new book. There are also talks of a tweaked Tau book too coming out as most of the army just needs small bits of work to make into a lean mean – superior technology machine.
Wish # 3 – More 2nd waves actually coming out.
I get so annoyed when a book comes out with all this cool stuff – but no models to make the cool stuff. I know I mod a lot of things – but I would really just like to see at least some good pics of the new options – that way we can actually go about creating correct pieces. At least we can know what the size should be instead of guessing.
Wish # 4 – Please let the future video games be cool.
I want to see a cool 40k MMO. I want to get excited as I cut an Ork in half with the chainsword. Lets see a bolter be as bad ass as the books make it out to be. Hell I would just love to see an FPS with a Modern Warfare leveling up feature that had you go from a regular Chaos Space Marine all the way up to some kind of Crazy Chaos Lord with all kinds of cool options. Wouldn’t that rock to go from and Ork to a Nob with a cool Power Klaw or Kustom Dakka/Shoota thing?
Wish # 5 – More Events closer to Texas
Look I would love to play at every event but with limited vacation time plus travel ability it gets hard to go out and throw dice around the country. I want to play everywhere as it gives me the most options to learn new avenues in a game. I mean crap the amount of stuff up in the Eastern side of the US makes me wish I lived closer so I could at least have the option to drive. Yes I know we drive to Adepticon but that is a one time a year thing and it has become like the some kind of quest to get up there and defeat whatever monster to gain experience and become better wargaming mages/warriors/priests/etc.
Wish # 6 – I know I talked about Xenos books – but really I just want a Chaos Space Marine book
Look – we want Legion books. How many of you have a Chaos army? How many of you have a Chaos Space Marine army that most of the time plays as a Space Wolf/Blood Angels army? How many of you are tired of being told you should play more Plague Marines? Look I just want a new book with more cool crap in it. Where are my cool mutations? Where are my creepy Slaanesh stuff that makes you feel funny? You almost have a full plastic range with the army so it should be easy to bust out a codex. I know a ton of you would love to paint more Chaos stuff. It just makes me a sad panda when I look at all my Chaos Space Marines. Boring for the Bored God eh?
Wish # 7 – Bigger and better terrain on table tops.
A shooting gallery isn’t very fun. I want more terrain that makes moving and finding avenues of death much more important. I think it is going towards that direction so here is hoping it stays moving there. Planning your turns out for movement is a lot of fun and just playing a stand and shoot game of Red Rover is boring. More terrain, more movement makes for better players and a game that is more chess like versus shooting the guy who lagged out in Halo.
Wish # 8 – Get a chance to play at the ETC.
I threw in my hand to the small chance I could do well at Adepticon this year. Will see if I can make it across the pond and cause all kinds of Goat mischief over there. That is what I want to try to do. Heck, my mom is from Belgium – do you guys need a player? Hehe. Heck I’m Irish too :). Either way I am going to try to go for it. My wife wants me to make it so she can fly over and see the sites and sounds of Europe. You don’t want Mrs. Goatboy to cry now do you?
Wish # 9 – More interesting Internet fights.
I know that most of the time it is all about sword fighting but really – lets get some cool fights this next year. Hopefully there is less personal drama and other nonsense and we just get into a whole new realm of idiocy and drama. I can only yell at Darkwynn so much you know. Mr. Black seems to be drinking that Hateraid so I could always fight with him. I guess I should just keep calling him Meeister Black. At least he isn’t Meeister Pink. Hell that is usually Darkwynn hah.
Wish # 10 – I am just going to wish for the Chaos Space Marine codex redux again.
More wishes can only help right? Come on Phil Kelly work some Space Wolf magic for the bad guys eh? Every game needs an enemy and the CSM can be the Donkey Punchers of the universe again. Man you even imagine how cool it would be if people could bitch about the CSM codex being too powerful?
I am sure there are other things I could wish for but I’m ready to take my picture with Santa. Look I paid my two dollars and I get to sit on your lap and take a picture. No I didn’t urinate this time. That is just where I spilled my soda. Look just take the picture and I won’t make a scene I swear. Urine washes out. Don’t you scotch guard those pants? What kind of Mall Santa are you!!!
