Outside the box 11-12-10
Prepare for a big one, because this week was HUGE! There are tons of news from Warlord Games, Mantic Games, Wyrd Miniatures, Spartan Games and more! Plus not one, but two “Exotics of the week”!
Warlord Games
The focus of Warlord Games fro this week was clearly the Bolt action range. The britsih infantry hit stores and they released the announced Vickers HMG team. Even more excitinbg was the announcement of the British Chindits for the War in the Far East range.
Additionally, they offer Pike & Shotte deals and previewed Count Tilly, another character for the Thirty Years War.
Spartan Games
Still nothing but Dystopian Wars, which is nothing bad. People started to get their orders, therefore a lot of unboxing was going on.
Additionally we saw the first pictures of a french ship and Spartan Games put the first downloads online, a set of markers.
Oh, and if you don’t have your rulebook yet (like me, because I ordered it from the UK and it’s snowing like hell in europe and there is basically no international shipping at all at the moment…), head over to the Varcan Cluster and check out their Dystopian Wars review!
Mantic Games
The Kings of War rules are now available as a download for free.
Beside that, Mantic Games is now selling the Hasslefree Miniatures Zombie Hunters in special box sets
Wyrd Miniatures
Big news here: Wyrd published pictures of the december releases.
And even more exciting, they announced a streamlined rulebook and hinted at organized play inte near future!
Our exotic of the week is Lead Adventure, a brand new manufacturer from germany. They have awesome post-apocalyptic and steampunk ranges, check it out!
Actually, you get another one today, because Dreamforge Games just published pictures of the actual Leviathan Mortis model!
Check out the other pics to see a scale shot with a 30mm MERC miniature.
Don’t forget, if a weekly fix is not enough, head over to Tabletop Fix for daily news about the hobby!
Well, that was quite a lot! I hope you enjoyed it, and as always, comments are very welcome. Let us know if you like this format or if you would like to have more details, more companies covered or more pictures?
