The Overlords – Episode 36 ***Explicit Warning***
Highlights: This week the boys open up with some news, defend the in-defensible, and what they have been up. Next up was room 40001, and they introduce a new segment called the Meatlocker, and this week they talk about fielding Imperial Armor Units without permission. Next they talk to the leaders of the Codex Project and discuss that community project. They close out the show with Dean’s Dimension, part 2 of the Chaos Coverage and they focus on cultists.
Opinion: Overall this was another outstanding podcast from the Overlords. I am a huge fan of Dean’s Dimension and the more I listen to it, the further my 40K fluff knowledge expands. I really look forward to it each week, it feeds my fluff bunny! Great work guys!
The Independent Characters – Episode 23 ***Explicit Warning***
Highlights: This week the guys, joined by Zack, open up with that they have been doing lately by covering some weathering techniques they learned and the games that they have played. They main article of the show this week in an in-depth look at psykers and psykic powers in the 40K universe. They start off with a fluff look at these powers and move on to talk about the rules and in-game effects of these powers.
Opinion: Overall, I really enjoyed this podcast. They really dug deep into the fluff of psykers in the 40K universe and I found myself wanting them to keep going, that I wanted to hear more on the fluff. The rules section was a good refresher as well. Overall, a fantastic podcast, I highly recommend it!
The 11th Company – Episode 57
Highlights: This week the gang opens up with some talk about the ‘rumored’ leaked Grey Knights Codex and they move on to talk about the games that they played. Pat interviewed Yakface still talking GW FAQs, INAT, and updates to the game, and he also talked to Nick from Chapterhouse Miniatures. 40UK talked about an upcoming tournament called Man-O-War and some tournament prep. Next up was a “How-To” on how to build a tournament list and what you can expect to see there. Carian from the Overlords came in to talk about the Scout Bike unit and Neil and Farseer talk all about IG psykers. They finish off the show with list building IG and Tau, which was fun!
Opinion: Overall, this was another good episode from the 11th Company. It had tactics, list building, interviews, and more. I really did like the segment where they talked about what to expect to see at a tournament, it was enlightening and is gearing me up for this year’s tournament scene! Good work guys!
The Eternal Warriors – Episode 11 ***Explicit Warning***

They move on to talk about news, rumors, and internet roundup. The second segment was some Warmachine discussion and then move on to talk about the second hand miniatures market like eBay and Barter Town, and how to buy and sell in this forum. Segment three started off with a car rant by CSwizzy, and then it moved onto the Forgeworld/GW price increase and the state of GW.
Opinion: Overall, the podcast was back on track with more 40K talk and was a lot of fun to hear. I really did enjoy the second hand market discussion and there were some great tips in there. To anyone looking at buys secondhand miniatures online, I highly recommend this one! This is a great one to listen to and one of the best overall podcsts out there!
Imperial Vox Cast – Episode 45 ***Explicit Warning***
Highlights: This week, Bill and Dawson fly without Silas and Tor this week, but push on to talk about what they have done in the last two weeks; there is an interesting rules discussion here as well. In the next segment, the boys discuss how to build a few hard as nails tournament lists on a cheap budget. They run down what to buy and where to buy it (www.thebrokenforge.com). In the last segment they talk about the best GW purchases they have ever made. They move on to talk about what GW can do to improve their game and their company, and close out with some random thoughts.
Opinion: I really liked this podcast. The show is usually much better in the three man format but, something people have to work right? Bill and Dawson carried on pretty well and I really like the Army on the cheap segment. I do think the show sort of trailed off there at the end, but overall still a good podcast.
