Howdy BoLS People! Crazy Red Praetorian here and I do mean here, not on the way to Adepticon…AGAIN!!! Once again my friends are headed up to the Windy City for a great time and even better competition. I missed last year’s event due to taking a new job.
So, my team mates went to the event and used two of my armies to compete. I was there in spirit, anyway. I hated to miss the event but had to keep my priorities straight. Yes, work does(unfortunately) come before 40K. I told myself next year will be the year. I made plans to go this year and had to change them. My situation changed and I was going to get to go! Then I got a new job and it was plain that I was not going this year, either. Talk about a roller coaster. Lightning does sometimes strike twice!
Now before you get the wrong idea(that I’m whining like a little girl), I’m not really all that upset. There are some really cool upsides to not going to Adepticon and getting drunk, playing 40K, and hanging out with a bunch of like minded people. Here are my top five upsides to not attending Adepticon.
5. There is a local RTT this weekend. So, I get to play some 40K and GoatBoy won’t be there with his count as army of the week. He has more armies than he has pairs of underwear….Seriously.
4. I don’t have to listen to Jwolf yell at GoatBoy for having the bladder of a pregnant nanny goat. The yelling will probably start about 15 miles from Austin.
3. Two Words! NO HANGOVERS! ……..well, maybe not.
2. The name on the van says it all. Ten guys, one girl, and 13+ hours of driving. The ten guys having eaten twenty pounds of burritos and breakfast tacos, followed by Mickey D’s. Not a recipe for aroma therapy. I hope The Girl packed some Beano….for her sake.

Seriously, I wish my pals the best of luck and I hope they have a great time and a safe trip. Someone give Brent a cup check for me!
