Maxmini has a load of different bits.  These were built from using a mix of various bits primarily from Maxmini.

Disclaimer:  I play 40k; I’ve played 40k since the 80’s.  When I look at a model I look at it from the perspective of how can I use this in 40k?  That’s not to say the model can’t be used in alternative ways it’s just my perspective.
These guys were built from the following bits:
Maxmini – Greatcoat Legs
Maxmini – Combat Armour Torsos
Maxmini –  Neobrit Trenchers heads
Forge World – Renegade Militia Weapon Arms
Dragon Forge – Wasteland II Bases

Quality:  The Maxmini bits are great, as I’ve come to expect.  Very clean casts, few if any mold lines and little flashing.  The legs are actually the first metal offering by Maxmini.  This allows them to be a little cheaper than resin.  The quality was still good though.

The Forge World arms were typical FW quality, some good, some not so good.  I had to do a bit of heating and reshaping on the guns and arms.  There was a bit of mold lines to clean.  Nothing overly terrible though.

The Dragon Forge bases are always top notch.  Very clean and very little if any cleanup required.

Value: For Maxmini and Dragon Forge I give them a 3.5.  Their products are great and priced fairly.  They are not dirt cheap but you get what you pay for.
3.5 Teef

For Forge World I give them a 3.  I would consider a 2.5 but there are very few options our there for alternate arms so that makes it tough.  If there were as many arm options as heads these would be lower.

Look/Feel: I think the bits mesh really well together.  I chose to use one specific Maxmini head.  I like the uniform look as opposed to have 5 different versions.  One of the great things about Maxmini is that they will give you exactly what you want!  I asked for 10 of the same head and that’s what I got.  The arms look great as well and fit the look I was going for; an elite unit but still obviously chaotic.  The bases just push home the feeling of a battlefield littered with debris.

After buying these bits Puppets War released some Steampunk Guardsmen Heads.  If I was building a full army around these guys I would get some to use as sgts, officers and veterans.  I’d like to get one for the sgt of this unit.  The pic is somewhat misleading.  The set comes with 10 heads total.  8 of the one on the bottom and 1 each of the two on top.
