Legion of Everblight: Nephilim Bloodseer 101
Ok imagine this guy has wings and you would have the new Legion of Everblight Nephilim Bloodseer. There hasn’t been any pictures for it yet so this is what I have to work with. Anyways, Hi guys this is Caldera again to talk to you today about the above mentioned new model!
I will go over basic stats, abilities and what this model means for Legion players. It’s easy to get overshadowed in this type of release when you have a Gargantuan to contend with. Lets face it, the Archangel is awe inspiring to look at it so it’s not a stretch to miss this little guy.
Stats:
If you look on this guys card and then look at the Protectors card, there isn’t a difference really when it comes to stats. The name of their respective weapons are different but the stats themselves are exactly the same. This is not what we need to really pay attention to though in all honesty. It’s the abilities that make this guy so amazing!
Abilities:
Right, straight to the creamy center of this juicy new morsel!
Flight – Nothing new in Everblight’s army. So why is this significant though? Who needs flying beasts to meet tier requirements? Oh hey Epic Vayl’s tier does, that’s cool.
Telemetry – Plus two to hit for magic attack rolls while the target is within 5in of this model. WOW! This is nuts! This is probably my favorite ability that this beast has by far and the reason he gets included in certain lists now. Who can take advantage of this? eVayl for one!!! (See a trend here?) Bethayne loves him too. These two are really the only ones that stick out to me as must haves. I can see an argument for eLylyth for pin cushion but that’s a hard sell. Saeryn doesn’t really need it because her one spell she casts with regularity is aimed at warrior models and isn’t all that hard to hit with her FURY stat. pVayl isn’t a spell splinger and has way better uses for her beast allotment. Lylyth 3(Thrylyth!) maybe for her Frost Hammer? Nah.
Primal Magic – This seems to be the book of stealing other factions goodies!!! Shaman, you are no longer singular in having this ability all to yourself!!! hahahahaha. So for anyone who doesn’t know what this ability is, it allows the Bloodseer to cast any other animus of a friendly non-character beast within command range.
More Tenacity, more Spiny Growth, more you name it!!!
Brutal Charge – Adds +2 to damage rolls on a charge attack. Nifty.
Animus:
Witch Blight – Self only range and costs 2 fury. Enemy models within 5in pay more for their spells. Upkeeps in the same range cannot be upkept. Now if we only had lamentation to stack with this! 🙂
Putting it all together:
So I’ve played quite a few games with this model so far and in every game I have not been disappointed. I will give you an example. Denny(either one) is behind a wall in the middle of the field. Hard to hit right? Vayl needs a 12 to hit her! Not an easy roll to try for and not reliable at all. Lets run the Bloodseer within 5 inches of denny. Now vayl is bumped to an effective fury 10! She only needs a 10 to hit her behind the wall now!!! Also the bloodseer acts as a very good target for arcing spells through.
Bethayne, the other good warlock to benefit from the Bloodseer. She is a pretty decent spell slinger herself but so is her army. So this new Light Warbeast is almost an auto include in her army in my mind. As much as the naga is for eLylyth.
I think we made out like a bandit with this new release. I am very excited to accept this new beast into the fold and crush my enemies(friends) with it! 🙂 May their tears fuel my blighted heart for a long time!!
