There’s no doubt that Tau Markerlights are make or break for your army, but what is the best way to integrate them into your list?

1) Pathfinders – I like 5-6 man squads, equipped naked.  They are cheap, easy to hide and super point efficient on a points/markerlight basis.

2) Drone squadrons – The new mix and match Drone Squadrons are great.  What you gain in mobility, you lose in accuracy and they aren’t the cheapest.

3) Commander w/Drone Controller-markerlights – a bit on the pricey side, and limits your HQ options, but BS:5 markerlights are nothing to sneeze at.  Join this hombre to a markerlight Drone Squadron and lets the party commence.

4) Skyray – Twin networked markerlights on a durable platform is pretty nice.  Not points efficnet by a long shot but you do get a decent tank attached to your markerlights gratis.

5) Sniper Drone Team – Holy smokes! Did you notice that guy is BS:5! Apparently Tau do need glasses.

6) Stealth Team Shas’Vre w/Drone Controller & Markerlight-target lock –  Only BS:3 but worth it just for the sneakiness of marking the baddies with that monster cover save and fading away with your move-shoot-move shenanigans.   Folks hate that.

7) Firewarrior Shas’ui with Markerlight/Targetlock – for those who prefer to integrate single markers all across your units this is your man.  Watch out for precision shots though.

8) Crisis Teams with Drone Controlers & Markerlights – this is the uparmored, pricier version of #7.

9) Riptide with Drone Controller – I can’t reccommend it, but I guess if you really want a survivable marklight platform.  But seriously just take the Early Warning Override and Stim Injector like everyone else on the planet.

10) We saved the best for last – The Tetra!  If you love Forgeworld, its hard to complain about a Heavy 4 marerlight attached to a fast skimmer that is absolutely teensy and dirt cheap.

~I prefer cheap and simple, so its Pathfinders for me – but Commanders hanging out with Drone Squadrons is growing on me.  What is your preffered method of adding markerlights to your Tau?
