40K-AAAHH!!!: The Space Marines Keep on Coming!
I thought I was tired after yesterday – then the next set of new kits broke everywhere! “Look – Up in the sky!!!”
Start here – Keep going!
Now for me the Centurions are interesting and we need to see them in the round at the formal GW announcement to get a feel for the kits. Pretty much EVERY release cycle some kit comes out that looks HORRID in a still picture and much better when we see the 360 views.
BUT, the real crown jewels of this release will be the new Tactical/Sternguard kits. Let’s be honest, these are the kits that will be purchased in droves by the masses to build and fill out all those boots on the ground Space Marine players want. If they wow us with amazing poses, cool bits, and great detail everything else is moot and GW will be able to breathe easy.
On the other hand, if the Design Studio gives Centurions AMAZING rules, they will fly off shelves even if they looked like Nagash. Remember the Storm Raven folks? It’s still the ungainly flying turkey it was at launch – we’ve just gotten used to it.
Finally I am CRAZY excited about the 178 page codex. That is going to be a monster and 1st hand accounts are now saying the Black Templars are in there – apparently with a Supplemental Codex in the works.
I for one am happy about that. One less “full sized marine codex” frees up a codex slot for a new army. Wipe away your Black Templar tears with thoughts of what you think GW could do with that new army slot.
