Highlights:This week the boys are looking at the new Inquisition Codex! They opened up the show with what they have been up to lately in gaming and the hobby.Next up was model of the week where they looked at the new AvP miniatures game and some of the minis found in there. They then discussed their questions of the week, ‘Which is your favorite arm of the Inquisition?’Next up was the guy’s complete overview of the new Inquisitor Codex, starting with a look at the artwork and feel for the new book.Next, it was on to the rules itself, starting with the Allies Matrix for them and the modified Force Organization Chart. They move on to some of the back story and new Ordos revealed in this book, including those dedicated to eliminating the C’Tan.Next it was on to the Warlord Traits for each Ordo, some of the new weapon options available them, the Psychic Powers available, the Relics and much more! They move on to the Unit entries like Coteaz, Karamazov, Henchmen, and the generic Inquisitors from each Ordo and the Transports they can take.
Opinion:This week the boys beat everybody to the punch and were the first to give us a peak at the new Inquisition codex! As usual the guys did a really good job reviewing this ‘codex’ and all of the fun to be found inside.I do wish they had gone a bit more into some of the nasty combos found here but overall myfavorite for the week!Outstanding work guys!
Highlights: This week the guys are fresh back from their GT and talking all about it!They opened up the show with some discussion about the events at their GT, which included Jesse Newton getting tabled in turn two and the Warp Storm table coming up big on the final table. They then moved on how different it was to run a 96 man event as opposed to 64, some of the interesting rules questions that came up with 6th Edition rules, and much more. This included questions on JAWS and hitting a target in a Bastion, disembarking from a skimmer, can you go under the tank, flyers that are shot down and scatter off of the board, what happens to the passengers, and much more. They also had a great discussion about the concepts of slow playing and how at this level of play you should be able to complete at least a fourth turn in the allotted time, they also debating some tactics for a TO on how to help speed his players up.They then moved on to discuss the NOVA tournament format and how the meta played out at their event, with Eldar, Tau and Daemons having a strong showing. They closed out the show with another ‘Simhammer’ segment where DJ broke down the Reserve rules!
Opinion:I was so sorry I bought a house this year and had no vacation time to make the 11thcompany’s GT!However, having not been there, the guys did a great job reviewing the event.I personally liked their look at the current meta and how that was reflected at their event. great show guys!
Highlights:This week the boys have returned from a week long absence and back to what they do best, tournament reviews! This week they are covering all things tournament and the show kicks off with Dave reporting from the ETC Practice weekend event he attended. They talked about their reasons for starting to practice early and some of the ways they build a team for this great event.Next, Raj Nagra joins the cast and she is on a journey to go from 40K rookie to tournament regular. She discussed her first game, what armies she is looking at playing, why she wants to play, and her first impressions of Warhammer World and the game itself.Next, Dave and Josh sat down to discuss the UK GT Heat Three that they recently attended. They started off by going over the lists that they took to the event, Josh taking Eldar/Dark Eldar and Dave taking his Screamer Council. They then moved on to their very detailed analysis of the games they played each of the six rounds of this event. They took to time to report on how each game went, what worked for them, and the overall outcome of the games.Big surprise here, Dave did not make it to day two due to his evening activities. They closed out their review of the event by looking at how the meta has shifted to Tau, Eldar, and Psychic Deathstars. They closed out the show with an interview from the GT Heat 3 and Interviews with the TOs of the UK GT and discussed how it came to be!
Opinion:Back to business as usual for the guys, and with a new cast member to boot.I am really looking forward to raj’s progress as there is a big difference between learning the game and learning the competitive game. They also did a great job reviewing heat three of the GT, and of course I wish Dave had made it to day two, it is all too disappointing to find out that Dave didn’t bother to go.Aside from that, good show overall.
Highlights:So, this week was supposed to be part one of their review of the Forgeworld Horus Hersey Book Two, however due to some delays this did not happen. However, they did decide to go to the Warriors Lodge and talk to some of their local gamers. The kicked off the show with the ‘Work Bench’ where they discussed what they have been up to lately in the hobby and gaming.Next it was on to the ninth edition of the Warrior’s Lodge where they were joined by Ken and Anthony and they started off talking about what they have been doing in gaming. They then tackled some hard hitting question in the 40K world, starting off with ‘How to bring the 40K Universe to the forefront of the Sci-Fi world?’They moved on to talk about the rumor that Finecast is on its way out and full plastics are due to take over, new races to 40K where do they belong, and much, much more!
Opinion:One of my favorite segments on the show is the Warrior’s Lodge, so a full episode dedicated to it was pretty cool. Now, it was not the Horus Hersey episode we all are looking forward to, but it was still pretty interesting and loaded with fun. Good show guys!
Highlights:This week the boys are joined by Ciaran and they opened up by discussing Steve’s return to the YouTube channel, and more local news. They then moved on to 40K gaming news, which included the Inquisition Codex. In the first segment of the show, the guys discussed building army list that are more to the narrative of your army as opposed to competitive. Each host wrote lists for their armies and discussed the things they kept in mind for their army backgrounds.Next, Jason had an interview with John from Battle Scribe and they discussed some of the improvements they have made over there.Next, Ciaran led a discussion about the ‘Black Library’ weekend that he recently attended. He talked about the authors that were there, the people that he met, and some of the great products he was able to pick up there.
Opinion:I have to say I really liked the segment on building a fluffy list, it really made me think. All too often I build lists with what works best as opposed to what I think looks cool on the table.I need to start playing more games like that, just for the fun of the game and less beat face. Thanks for the food for thought guys!
