40K: Knight Lancer Rules
The gorgeous Knight Lancer was unveiled over the weekend at the Forgeworld Openday. But it’s rules were also on display for the eager masses.
I like the way they made the Ion Gauntlet Shield array a nice difference from the standard Ion Shield. I think the Shock Lance is a decent tradeoff – with its dual modes of use and the +1 Initiative boost. That total I:5 can make all the difference when you are hunting Wraithknights. Overall a nice assault based variant.
As this shot is from the Horus Heresy book, I would assume the standard Knight Paladin/Errant are in there as well. This all points to the continuing trend of Forgeworld growing and expanding a viable Mechanicus armylist for players of the HH series. Based on the conversations and product roadmaps from the last Forgeworld Opendays, its a good bet that that “Mars” HH book focussed entirely on the Mechanicus is being build up methodically kit by kit along the way through the HH series.
If what you really want in your heart of hearts is to play a Mechanicum army – it would seem that 30K is the game you should be playing.
~What do you think of the Lancer’s rules compared to the Paladin/Errant?
