So some of you might know me from various forums under the moniker Red Skullz and my (very new) blog where I mostly convert and paint Orks. I do play and own other stuff than greenskins and this plog is about one of those. I`m finally starting to work on my 3rd edition Chaos Dwarf army. I’ll try to show you the process of making the army from army list through conversions and hopefully at the end a 2000 point converted and painted army I can bring to tournaments with pride (in looking good, as it probably plays like poop).
One of the key things for me before I start buying stuff and assembling miniatures is figuring out what minis I want to include and how I want the army to work in games. Now the latter part isn`t that important to me (not that I like to lose, I hate it) but for me this hobby is about figuring out what to make and enjoy the process of building and painting them. Being able to play with them in a game with a set of rules is icing on the cake in my opinion. I digress (and I do that a lot..). So the Tamurkhan book from Forge World is the no brainer here. There are a lot of fanmade army books but I always prefer to use stuff with official rules. Much simpler. My initial list and what I have prepared is this:
Made the Cut!
Sorcerer-Prophet
– Level 4
– Great Taurus (centre piece model, will not be revealed yet)
Daemonsmith Sorcerer
– Dispel Scroll
Infernal Castellan
– BsB (big old-school styled banner, with freehand motif)
2*Hobgoblin Khans
– Wolves
29 Infernal Guard
– Full cdo
10 Blunderbusses
– Musician (best minis of that range so despite shitty rules ROC overrules that)
– 2*Deathshrieker Rocketlaunchers
(another set of great minis, so a must have)
– K`daai Destroyer
(another centre piece model, will not be revealed yet either)

Some spoilers here but not of the big ones 😉 |
And that`s 2000 points when I upgrade it with various items. Won`t be anything spectacular but the normal ward saves on my characters and stuff like that.
So I still have stuff I would like to include in the army in building it further but also to get more flexibility at 2000 points as that`s the level games go around here.
Here`s the quick rundown:
– Bull Centaurs (based from the Golgfag Mercenary ogres)
– K`daai Fireborn (based on the oop Necron warriors)
– Earthshaker Cannon (the original model)
– Hobgoblins, foot and cavalry (don`t have these..anyone?)

Boom! |
So that`s it for part 1. Next time I`ll look into basing.
