Hordes: New Units Unboxed
Let’s look at the two new Hordes units coming out this month!
These guys are a little different than other units we’ve seen from Privateer. Each box can be assembled to make one of two different units. For Everblight it’s the Strider Blightblades or Strider Rangers. For Skorne it’s the Praetorian Swordsman or Praetorian Keltarii.
So lets start with Skorne
As you might expect from this dual kit, it’s loaded with bits.
Quality-wise this seems to be one of the better small based infantry plastic kits I’ve seen from Privateer. Prior to this one I think the Bane Thralls might have been the best, but these guys could be the new winners. There are mold lines to clean sure, but they mostly seem to stay out of the tough to reach areas. The high amount of detail on that insanely ornate Skorne armor also holds up well.
Heres a different torso.
The heads also have a good amount of detail.
Here’s a spear for a Keltarii.
And of course the Swordsman carry these swords.
Lastly here are some shoulderpads.
That brings us to Legion.
Not quite as many bits but then this is just a six man unit.
Unlike the Skorne, who are only distinguished by their weapons, the Nyss have different heads as well. These are for the Strider.
And for the Blightblades.
The leader is the only one with a two part torso/leg build.
The rest look like this.
Or this.
These cool backwards daggers go with the Blightblades.
While the Striders get the bows obviously.
The capes are the coolest part about these guys. Plastic, regardless of which kind is used, is great for doing stuff like crazy flowing capes that whip around the elf wearing them.
This one has even more of a curve to it.
