GW shows off their new Tyranid Spore Pod models – Don’t miss these closeups.

Ohh, look at that cinematography. The depth of field, the pans, the closeups. Someone at GW is having a great time with their camera.

I have to say I’m really impressed by these. The creepy bloated gas sacs on the Tyrannocyte, the disturbing upper maw and the variable open or closed chitin outer plates are very well done. For the floating Tyrannocyte I think the sculptors did a pretty good job of supporting such a large model on those dangling tendrils.

The Sporocyst and Mucolid are nice alternatives, with the detailing on the Mucolid’s “head” being a real standout.

If I see anything lacking with these its the somewhat identical and symmetrical nature of the radiating tendrils on the large pods, but perhaps that was just the way the sample kit was assembled. It’s possible they may be somewhat posable.
