The Scourge are a glass shotgun faction!

In the “Starter Box”…

You have two Desolators (2x E13 or the Eye of the Storm (E11); Hunters (3x E11), Prowlers (8x E11), and Warriors (when using their “Combined Fire,” can give you 2x E11).  That’s 15x greater than E11 attacks!  The Reapers give you 6x E8 AA shots.

Prowlers: Since Dropzone Commander is weapon to target, Prowlers can soak up a lot of attacks to destroy them.  With careful positioning, your opponent will be wasting their MBT (main battle tanks) shots to kill the lowly Prowler.

Desolator: At Armor 6, a double Desolator build can soak up alot of AA shots… sacrifice one and get a devastating “Eye of the Storm” attack and you will cripple an opponent who has concentrated his ground units in one area.  Now, if you get two “Eyes” in one turn… it’s pretty much “Game Over.”

Warrior Horde: While their CQB is low like Legionnaires, people sometimes forget that they can damage heavier targets with plasma rifles and “Combined Fire” – comes in handy for knocking out that unguarded APC.

Hunter: While it may seem like they are short-ranged, a movement of 9″ and a range of 12″ gives you 21″ of threat range which is only a few inches worse than most factions.  The tradeoff is that if you get a shot off, you will likely destroy your target.

Destroyers: One of the best exotics in the game, their passive save of 4+ works in any situation, they can threaten tanks and can go toe-to-toe with every exotic in the game.

Regarding the “Flame Variant”…

Tormentor: In our opinion, one of the best ground units in the game.  10x E4 flame shots each will destroy most infantry stands in one turn.  They bring board control presence as no infantry will want to enter buildings within shooting range of these flame tanks.

Corsair: While it’s debatable about the effectiveness of Fast Movers and while they have usually a 25% of knocking out a light dropship, we feel that the psychological advantage of attacking anywhere on the board is worthwhile.  Furthermore, you will remember those games where you destroy a light dropship attempting to remove an objective from the board.
