Dropzone Commander Battle Report – Shaltari Tribes vs United Colonies of Mankind
The Shaltari Tribes and the United Colonies of Mankind duke it out in an objective search!
We’ve briefly touched on the factions within Dropzone Commander, and our last few articles addressed the barest basics of the Shaltari Tribes. Today we will continue our look at that faction by jumping into a large battle report. Next week we will pick back up with some of the tactics that I used throughout.

After Action Review
My poor opponent. I’ve never seen objectives clump up like that on the table. He only managed to find one objective, and then five were uncovered within 18” of my deployment edge. Add to that the fact that I randomly razed a building, only to discover that the final objective was hidden inside! That was ultimately just salt in the wound, but it hurt nonetheless. I suppose that even the most balanced game system will have such things happen from time to time.
It was nice to dust off the Dropzone models and get them back on the tabletop. We’ve been doing 40k with a good bit of dedication, and I almost forgot how much fun this game can be. The move/countermove is a nice change of pace from our usual outings in the grim dark millennium.
Have at it, armchair generals! Where did our plans go right/awry? Let us know in the comments below!
