40K Battle Report (Raptors vs Night Lords)
SN Battle reports brings you a beautiful battle report with the nefarious Night Lords facing the loyal Raptors chapter!

Mission – Purge the Alien (3vp Slay the Warlord)

Night Lords (Special Rule) Ignore Night Fighting……..how it should be as they are the predators of night!
Despite the tremendous G-Forces exerted by the drop pods meteor-like impact, Commander Nevitus was out of his restraint harness just as the explosive bolts fired and the massive assault ramps crashed into the scorched earth of Tanais III. Nevitus charged out of the drop pod holding his storm shield before him not so much in defence, but as a weapon. He was a living battering ram. He could hear the sharp sounds of shrapnel pinging off his armour signalling the spent fury of the Deathwind drop pods that had landed mere seconds before. With a resounding crunch Nevitus met his first opponent head on. The impact shattered him. Small arms fire replaced the shrapnel as the Sons of Curze reacted to the enemy in their midst. In a single smooth motion Nevitus drew The Burning Blade from its scabbard. Fierce golden flames erupted along its ornate and perfectly balanced blade. Nevitus gracefully extended the motion of drawing the blade into a downward cut that sliced a heretic in two as he simultaneously kicked out with his left leg, shattering another chaos marine’s leg sending him sprawling before he savagely brought down his shield crushing his chest.

Ruined cross road city, a great battle is approaching!
The Chapter Master’s Land Raider guarded by some more terminators in front moving cautiously towards the screaming insults of the night.
As the Screams of insults and heretical remarks become louder. Nevitus can see, through the fog of war, a war band of Night Lords in the distance!
Turn 1 (Raptors) Death from the Skies!!! The Drop Pod lands in the perfect position just behind the enemy line and disembarks the powerful (and expensive lol) 10 man Sternguard squad
Turn 1 (Raptors) WHAT A HIT!!!! First shot of the game see’s the Razorback hit the Landraider then Penetrate it, Karim then failis his night cover save and I then roll a 6 again (+1 for ap2) This see’s the tank explode!!! Wow!! what a start!
Turn 2 (Night Lords) Most of the night lord units move up with a great boost of morale seeing Naga sadow arrive
Turn 2 (Night Lords) Karim Then Fires his deadly Vindicator Blast on them again hits and wounds this time I fail one invul save and loose one of the terminators
Turn 3 (Raptors) After hitting the Daemon multiple times in the air Karim then rolls a 1 and so the Daemon Prince falls from the sky he manages to pass his invul save but stays with only 2 wounds and so the terminators can now assault!
Turn 4 (Raptors) With not a lot of kills in the shooting round by the raptors after some bad rolling to wound its straight to assault the Terminators manage to reach the Vindicator and the powerful chain fist on the terminator finishes the tank off!
