Warmachine/Hordes: New Game Aids
Hot on the heels of last month’s rings, Privateer releases five new sets of game aids for Warmachine and Hordes.
Let’s start with the wound counters.
It’s easy enough. Mark them with dry erase. Now no one can dispute how much damage a model has taken.
Only one wound away from a Party Foul!
Horthol and one of his Long Rider buddies have come under fire…
If you’re a little clever you can even come up with a system to remind you which models were damaged this turn.
What I like the most about this set of tools is that it removes any doubt. Have you ever had an opponent damage one model, then insist it was another because it became more convenient to have the new one easier to kill? I have, and I lost the dice off the TO made us take when neither of us could prove which one was really hurt. No one can pull that kind of crap with these markers in play.
Here’s the other set.
Some of you seemed suspicious of the size of the rings in the last article about these aids, so here’s the widget by a tape measure. I put it between 1 and 6 since the metal tab on the end of the ruler can add a little extra.
Widgets like these are always handy. I’m not sure what Boomhowler did to piss off this Warder, but no one can dispute that he’s out of range of his reach attack.
I think the blast tools are even cooler. I’ve thought of making something like this for years, but it would require some precise tooling and even if I could manage to get it right, people are always suspicious of homemade measuring devices. In this example, the Keg Carrier has been hit by a 3″ blast. He’s in trouble, but the Warder is safe.
He passes his Tough Roll only to get hit by a 4″ blast. This time the Warder is also in danger. As you can clearly see, there’s also a side for 5″ blasts. If it had been the Warder hit by the blast, I’d need to use the Medium Based Widget from the picture above. There’s one for Large Bases as well. These are going to be some incredibly handy tools.
~Do you guys think these new tools are as cool as I do?
