40K HOBBY: INQ28 Warband #1
In the aftermath of the Iron Sleet Invitational I haven’t been able to concentrate on my DKoK – instead I’ve been expanding my trio into a warband.
Hi! I`m Tommy from the blog bigbossredskullz and this week we’ll look into my growing INQ28 warband.
Theme
Overall my theme is that this is a radical Ordo Xenos inquisitor that utilizes xenos mercenaries primarily. All in the service of the Emperor of Mankind of course 😉
I’m not really following any rules or points, I just go with what I think is cool. Very refreshing take tbh!
The original trio
Background and WiPs are here but in short; in the center you have Inquisitor Xing aka the Merciless. His combat servitor (Mean-machine) and gun servitor (Peacock) are his closest bodyguards in case the xenos mercenaries get out of line.
Exodite sniper
Ilieth the exodite sniper was the first addition to the Merciless. Originally planned for a Dark Eldar kill team, she’s been in my bits box until I found her by chance looking for other bits. I really like this miniature – definitely one of my favorites.
Sslyth
This is another rejected project I found while looking for bits. Originally meant as a Herald of slaanesh for an army I ended up selling most of I think I salvaged it in a good way. This is for clarity a female two-armed sslyth. Originally they have 4 arms but it didn’t work on this model so I dropped it.
Genestealer hybrid
Maybe a bit far fetched with a genestealer cultist in an inquisitorial warband but the cult probably has it’s reasons 😉 A fun build though and happy I did it.
Flash Git
I’m (as my blog and moniker implies) very fond of orks and I love painting greenskins in general. Over the years I’ve landed on a more “realistic” type of green skin. I’ve even made a little tutorial on how I do it. I do feel though that the flash git for the Merciless is the best green skin I’ve painted.
WiP
I have a target and plan for a total of 10 members of the Merciless. That leaves 3. Here’s two of them.
Krootox rider
Very pleased with this mini diorama and I’m actually very excited to paint them.
Zoat Battle psyker
Okay so this one still has a lot of work left on him. He’s a crossbred zoat and pushed into service. Massive model and tough going but I think he’ll be good in the end.
Squats
No WiP of this yet but it will be the grand finale of the Merciless I can tell you that much!
That’s it for this week! Next week I’d love to say I’d finish my last two tanks for the DKoK or that the INQ28 Merciless project has more progress but I have something new in the mail that will distract me. Plastic crack is tough!
For those interested in seeing the WiPs and PiPs for my Merciless warband, check out my blog. I update several times a week!
Anyone else enjoy building and painting miniatures just for fun and not for playing?
