The right composition can make the story of a tv show or movie compelling and instantly fascinating; a change of lens or angle can totally change the mood of a scene. He’s also examined Yasujirō Ozu’s use of passageways as frames. I’m rather sad he doesn’t have a collection from the Coen Brothers. Their 25+ year partnership with Roger Deakins has produced some astounding and gorgeous images.
