BoLS Unboxing: Betrayal at Calth: Cataphractii Terminators
These Cataphractii don’t feel pity, or remorse, or fear – your wallet has been marked for Termination!
Hey BoLS Readers, AdamHarry back with more Betrayal at Calth coverage! Now I have a special treat – the new Cataphractii Legion Terminators:
Games Workshop did a bang-up job on these sprues. You get a TON of options for your 5 Cataphractii Legion Terminators. They fit together cleanly and you end up with a stunning final product. The legs are a bit static – but then again these suits aren’t really designed for marathon running or posing.
The real call-out for me was the shoulder pads. I’ve see tutorials online on how to convert your own and while those results look good, having these pads in plastic is just awesome. It may seem like a weird thing to be excited about but if you’ve never tried to convert your own you may not understand the issue. But now you don’t need to!
I will say this – the heads are funny to look at by themselves. But once you get the torso built with the heads they start to make more sense and have a great look to them – even if they look silly on the sprue.
I didn’t have any major issues when I built a basic Cataphractii for the video – it went together quite nicely. From the sprue, I thought maybe there was a peg for the arm to slide on with the torso. But no, they just have a rounded hole, probably for magnetizing (ha!). Although I guess you could…but then you’d need to convert shoulder pads for the alternate arms…hmm.
Overall, these Cataphractii are a great addition to any other Heresy Era force and are a great kit. I hope that GW decides to create a box for these guys at a later date (same with the Mk. IV Tactical Marines) – I’d love to get a few more of these bad boys!
Don’t worry, we’ve got more Horus Heresy: Betrayal at Calth coverage coming – stay tuned!
