White Scars: A Codex Space Marines Supplement $17.99

BLPROCESSED-codex-white-scars-ipad

The White Scars strike at the speed of lightning and with the strength of the storm. They are most comfortable fighting from the back of bikes, emulating the savage horse-mounted tribes of their home world, Chogoris. Their method of high speed warfare, coupled with their savage demeanour, makes the White Scars an unpredictable and dynamic force, adept at keeping their opponents off-guard and hitting them where they are weakest.

This Warhammer 40,000 expansion will allow you to field an army of White Scars in your games of Warhammer 40,000. It is designed to be used in conjunction with the datasheets in Codex: Space Marines, and contains the following:

• 4 White Scars formations, groups of models that gain additional special rules when used together on the battlefield
• A new Scarblade Strike Force detachment representing the way the Chapter wages war
• Tactical Objectives to use in Maelstrom of War missions
• White Scars-specific Warlord Traits and Chapter Relics

BLPROCESSED-codex-raven-guard-ipad

The Raven Guard are a Space Marine Chapter like no other. Where the likes of the Ultramarines and Imperial Fists go to war in bright colours, boldly attacking from the front, the Raven Guard strike from the shadows, their black armour and the stealthy tactics handed down from their primarch Corax making them a near-perfect infilitration force.

This Warhammer 40,000 expansion will allow you to field an army of Raven Guard in your games of Warhammer 40,000. It is designed to be used in conjunction with the datasheets in Codex: Space Marines, and contains the following:

The Flesh Tearers are the second sons of the Angel, foremost amongst the Successor Chapters founded from the Blood Angels gene-seed. But the Flesh Tearers are a cursed Chapter. The Red Thirst and the Black Rage tear at their souls, and their reputation in the Imperium is one of savagery. Renowned as butchers and remorseless killers, the Flesh Tearers are held at arm’s length by those they would protect.

This Warhammer 40,000 expansion will allow you to field an army of Flesh Tearers in your games of Warhammer 40,000. It is designed to be used in conjunction with the datasheets in Codex: Blood Angels, and contains the following:

• New Flesh Tearers formations, groups of models that gain additional special rules when used together on the battlefield
• A new Flesh Tearers Strike Force detachment representing the way the Chapter wages war

Cadia: A Codex Astra Militarum Supplement $23.99

BLPROCESSED-codex-cadia-ipad

For thousands of years, the people of Cadia have known nought but war. Fighting always to hold back the infernal hosts of Chaos, all Cadians – no matter their age, gender or station – must know how to fight. By the age of five most Cadians can strip and reassemble a lasgun. By six, most are deadly shots, and before their seventh birthdays they have received a no-nonsense introduction to the horrors of Psyker-taint and mutation. The Cadian Shock Troops are believed by many to be without equal in the entirety of the Imperial Guard. Displaying enviable levels of discipline, excellent marksmanship, and a cynical gallows humour, Cadian soldiers hold true to the tenet that to do your best and give your life for the Emperor is the highest form of honour.

This Warhammer 40,000 expansion will allow you to field an army of Cadian Shock Troops in your games of Warhammer 40,000. It is designed to be used in conjunction with the army list in Codex: Astra Militarum, and contains the following:

• Datasheets for 8 super-heavy tanks to add to any Astra Militarum army
• 12 Astra Militarum formations, groups of models that gain additional special rules when used together on the battlefield
• Tactical Objectives for Astra Militarum forces to use in Maelstrom of War missions
• A new Cadian Battle Group detachment representing the armies of Cadia
• Cadia-specific Warlord Traits and Heirlooms
• An Echoes of War mission based on a famous engagement of the Cadians

WD 101 cover

Here’s what you’ll find in the pages of issue 101:

•A look at all the new boxed sets, from Space Marines to Daemons of Khorne.
•Want to start collecting Skitarii? There’s an article all about them in this issue…
•…followed by a closer look at collecting an army of Nurgle. If you’re after some army-building inspiration, these are the articles for you.
•The Eternity Siege, a massive Warhammer Age of Sigmar battle fought over a huge Chaos Dreadhold. It’s an incredible sight to behold, featuring hundreds of miniatures (we genuinely don’t know how many, but it’s a lot).
•The stealthiest of all Tau Battlesuits makes an appearance on the back page of the magazine, along with a few tips on how it was painted.

It’s interesting they decided to sell the supplements for all the Kauyon and Mont’Ka ‘Imperial Portion’ separately. It does make sense – the White Scars and the Raven Guard Supplements are very similar to the Iron Hands Supplements, and being founding legion chapters and all the Heresy buzz – it’s a great combo for those players. Build a Heresy Army for a founding Legion for 30k AND have a 40k army ready to go with unique wargear, warlord traits, and formations. But it’s not like you can’t play 30k and 40k together already

Blame Cadia! Blame Cadia! They aren’t even a real Codex anyway.
