Hey BoLS Readers! AdamHarry back with another Tabletop Spotlight with our buddies from Dragon’s Lair Comics & Fantasy. This week Drake stopped by and brought over the latest Grand Alliance book for Age of Sigmar: Death! This new softback format is pretty cool and for the price tag I liked what you get:
Obviously if you’re a former Vampire Counts or Undead player this book is for you! (Sorry Tomb Kings – but at least you can still run a Skeleton Army…) Overall I like this format, it really reminded me of those older $30 codexes/army books Games Workshop used to put out and that’s a format I really miss! This 88 page softback was packed full of all the warscrolls and background stories for the new Age of Sigmar Death faction. It also has a ton of info on all the smaller sub-factions and a battalion scroll for playing without an old school “General” – You can finally run an entire army without a Vampire or Necromancer without worrying about crumble checks, finally – they only had to blow-up the planet to do it!
It’s a cool resource if you have an undead army. But for $16.50 it’s worth picking up if you’re playing AoS at all – just for the background (and also reading up on your enemy). We’ve now had two Grand Alliance books out for Age of Sigmar and a handful of Battletomes. It’s going to be interesting to see what direction Games Workshop goes with these collected Army Books in the future.
