Games Workshop said the new book would be a celebration of three decades of Space Marines, tracing them from thier humble beginings in 1986 up till today.

The table of contents. The origin stories and artwork for almost every major aspect of the Space marines is here from Rogue Trader on up through the ages. We get chapters, Chaos Marines, key units, vehicles, the Horus Heresy and much more.
Speaking of origin stories, here’s the original Legion of the Damned story from White Dwarf 99, published in March 1988.

Look for a lot of very early reprints of items from the golden era of White Dwarf.

I’ve been collecting and holding onto originals for 30 years – and it will be great to see all the younger players get a chance to own a piece of the origin stories of the Astartes.
