The Tabletop Spotlight is on The Index Astartes Apocrypha

We’ve got a treat today! Our Friends at Dragon’s Lair Comics & Fantasy brought over the Index Astartes Apocrypha and I’m very pleased to be able to share this one with the masses:

A lot has happened in 30 years since Space Marines were introduced to the world. This book goes waaaay back in the GW archives and reprints a lot of the old material. If you’re an old hand you’ll most likely recognize many of the articles, artwork and “units” included in this book. The nostalgia is STRONG with this one. If you’re new to 40k then you’re info a history lesson of epic proportions. This book has it all from the old school Power Armor, the early Space Marine Chapters all the way to the diagrams of the Land Raider and more. It’s extremely well done and if you’re lucky enough to get your hands on the a physical copy then you’ve got your hands on a piece of 40k history.

This is a great gift to any collector or player of 40k. The Index Astartes Apocrypha is the type of book that looks great on the bookshelf or on a coffee table. If you want to introduce a friend to the Warhammer 40,000 universe show them this book. What’s also great is that if you’re an old school player you should be able to pin-point the articles you start to recognize and share that with your friends (or kids if you have them). You can say, “This is MY Warhammer. This is when I started playing all those years ago.” You can also see the progression from the basic Rogue Trader Marines to what we have today – and it’s been a long, strange trip for sure.

So go out there and pick-up this book (if you haven’t already). It’s one of the best buys you can make for the hobby this year.
