Loop Inc

The Tabletop Spotlight is on Loop, Inc. – A game of Time Travel for Fun and Profit.

Hey BoLS Readers! Do you like Profit and Fun? How do you feel about the paradoxical ramifications of Time Travel? Are you cool with punching holes into the space time continuum? If you said ‘Yes’ to any of the above then my friends at Dragon’s Lair Comics & Fantasy have the game for you:

Loop, Inc. by Scott Almes is not your typical time travel game! You’re part of a company who’s main goal is to turn a profit by sending customers on “Back in Time” trips. If you manage your past you just might come out on top in the future – if you can keep up with the competition.

The basics of this game are a little hard to follow at first – but so is time travel but if these guys can do it, so can you! You’re replaying the same day 3 times and trying to manage your past self’s actions with new ones going forward. When you start the game you’ve got 3 actions to spend and then the day ends. But at the end of the day you’re hopping in your time machine to go back and replay the day.

Now you’ve got 3 more actions to spend. However, your past self is still running around. This happens for a 3rd and final time. If you can manage to avoid any space-time tears and get you timing right you just might make it big at Loop, Inc.

Sounds confusing? Yeah – it’s time travel! If you want to take a look at the rules that might clear up a few things as well. Overall, it’s a pretty fun concept that really isn’t too hard to get a hold of once you start playing.

If time travel and action management sounds like your thing then check out Loop, Inc. If you screw up, you can always go back and fix any mistakes…It’s Time Travel and that NEVER turns out poorly…

You and the other players work at Loop, Incorporated, the most prestigious time travel agency in the world…………………………..

Well, uh, that’s not entirely true. Truth be told, it’s a mismanaged, third-tier agency owned by the slick Mr. Loop who cares more about making a buck than making sure the delicate weave of the time-space continuum stays tight and safe.

For you and your coworkers, it’s as good a job as any.  However,  if you time things just right you may get a nice bonus at the end of the day, unknown to Mr. Loop, of course.  And since you have a time machine at your disposal, you can take multiple shots at that bonus…assuming things don’t get too chaotic with your past selves running around.
