There is a lot to talk about in this picture.

Units Included

This is apparently a page of unit points from the new system.  You can see a set of High Elves up top, with Lizardmen and Ogre Kingdoms below.

Note for example the unit 2nd from the bottom: High Elf Archers.  They are listed as follows:

High Elf Archers Unit Size MIN: 10 MAX:30 Points: 100???

Here is their original Age of Sigmar PDF Datasheet for comparison:

HIgh Elf Archers

Note that not only have points been added, but max unit size caps as well.  Of more importance is that the chart even lists these older units that do not exist in the newer Grand Alliance Warscroll books.

None of those High Elves are in this book, but they are in this one:

It would seem like we are getting a points system for ALL the warscrolls in Age of Sigmar, both the old WFB based ones, and the new 8-Realms ones.  I would consider that decision aimed squarely are roping back any older WFB players with armies GW can get.

Points

Next note the points.  With a unit of High Elves Archers listed at 100 pts (with 10 models minimum) and characters clocking in the 100-300 range you can start to to get a feel for how many models a 2000pt game will have.  Remember the following form a few days back on how large the games are designed to be:

generals handbook

Here’s the direct expects from the Bad Dice Podcast that elaborated on the “new” Age of Sigmar play earlier in the week. These are all direct quotes from their transcribed episode 131.

Then match play where there’s going to be actual points from Games Workshop for the Age of Sigmar models. You can play matched games, practise games, pickup games, friendly games, games where you can just turn up against another person and not need any discussion and just get your armies out of a box.

These are actually going to be 2,000 points, so it’s proper harking back to classic Warhammer (Fantasy).

2,000 points is kind of the 2 hour, 2 and a half hour battle.

There’s different level of battle in the book, different points values. That’s the beauty of it as Wayne said earlier, I think you can … this book is for people who want to play small battles of a few models and epic battles. It’s all in here.

Full rules for 5 different types of campaigns including Path to Glory

22 all new battle plans with Path to Glory-sized games with small war bands all the way up to huge knighted battles including all the biggest, largest heroes similar to what was in the End Time books.

Rules for multi player and team games as well which is cool.

Then points values again, for every … see, I can’t stop smiling when I say this. Points values for every war scroll and war scroll battalion in the Age of Sigmar.
