The 40K draft FAQ is huge, comprehensive and amazing.  The document intends to stop a lot of the things that have been ‘plaguing’ the competitive scene.

Episode 145 is here, download it now! Tournament and Hobby talk all in the same place. Say it ain’t so! Forge The Narrative is bringing you the best in Warhammer 40k Podcasting.

Hey Guys,

We give some initial impressions on the new Death from the Skies book but at this point it is just surface level stuff from us.  We are sort of waiting to see what some of the major events around the country are looking to do with it before we weigh in.

The Draft FAQ from GW can not be ignored.  It is clear that the intent from the company is to limit a lot of what they think may be cramping the enjoyment of the game.  Are they trying to push it too far? My answer is no but I am not sure that everyone on the show agrees with me.

All the changes seem to be about bringing the ‘fun’ back and to limit degenerate behavior in list design.  Do you guys think this FAQ is really trying to clarify the intent of the rules writers or are they trying re-write or forgive past rules writing sins?  Either way the result is the same –  After this draft becomes final 40k is going to be a better game.

I kind of feel like the players who have to make the biggest changes to their lists are the players that knew they were ‘getting away’ with something in the first place.

GW is doing this the right way – they solicited questions, took them all seriously and produced a DRAFT doccument that they want our feedback for.  Interaction on this level is unprecedented for the company and it is extremely exciting.

In this show we spend the first half taking about the the Wharmmer 40k ATC and a little bit about how major tournaments could adjust when this FAQ gets set in stone.  How doe it effect you?  Is the sky falling or are you one of those people silently nodding there head and saying ‘this is how it needs to be?’

If you like this sort of banter we also do a live webshow every Monday at 10pm EST. You can find those posted over on the FTN Google + Page. The rebroadcast is over on our YouTube page.

Thank you!

Each episode will be about an hour long. This ideally gives you something neat to listen to on your way to work, or on the way back home. Maybe you can even listen while you are painting or modeling!

FTN mostly focuses on Warhammer 40k, but again you will see in the first few episodes we take a severe deep dive into nerdom. These have been a blast to record and I hope they help pass the time for you.
