Behold the Glory of Leman Russ & Review
Leman Russ returns from his humble miniature origins with a Forge World beauty. How does it stack up to his brothers?
Froge World has put the all new Leman Russ miniature up for order this weekend. It’s the newest member of the ever growing Primarch line and does not fail to impress. Let’s take a closer look and see how Russ stacks up to Forge World’s previous offerings.

Mini Review
Leman Russ is looking good. What we have here is a miniature who’s form matches the character of the individual he’s trying to represent. The Wolf King is moving flat out, looking to the side and bringing his weapons up to strike. He looks lethal, dangerous, and unstoppable. This isn’t a contemplative pose like Lorgar or Guilleman got. Russ is here for one thing only – to kill. The miniature shows that in spades, yet has a sense of balance and warrior skill to show off to the viewer. It’s not as unbridled and off the hook as Angron’s unhinged charging pose. Note Russ is baring his canines, but not screaming – a subtle statement of self control.
I’m a traitor, not a fighter
From a little details point of view, there is a bit of a mismatch in flow and sense of direction between the direction of movement defined by the legs and the “blow dryer” direction of Russ’ hair, but that’s a minor point. He has the continuing issue with many of the Primarch range with a slightly oddly proportioned face. It’s not anywhere as bad as Night Haunter or Fulgrim, so I’ll give it a pass.
I hate my dad for giving me this nose…
I would put the model in the top third of the current Primarch range. He’s up there with the solid ones like Ferrus Manus (the best so far), Vulkan and Angron. It’s a solid, serious model that befits it’s namesake.
Looking good – sorry about the beheading…

GRRR – look at my teeth!
I brush twice a day…
…and floss
Also, I use gems as hair decorations – you should try it.
~ He’s certainly come a very very long way from his original mini:
