GW: Video Breakdown – Magnus The Red
Games Workshop’s big Magnus reveal was impressive – but what else were they teasing in that video?
Games Workshop’s web team was at it again yesterday. They had quite the reveal to show off with Magnus the Red plus they had a few other clues to toss our way. If you haven’t seen the video yet you can check it out HERE:
The first teaser they provided was some new artwork:
You can very clearly make out the staff and horns of none other than Ahriman himself. Rob has his hand strategically placed over what we can only assume is the Daemon Primarch Magnus at this point. My guess is this is a cover for one of the new Black Library books or codex art of some type. It’s definitely a print however!
The next thing they showed off was a “Thousand Sons” sprue in all plastic!
Now, some eagle-eyed readers may have noticed that there are a few gaps in the sprue – here’s a better look:
Now, it’s already hard to tell what those basic bits are, but now I’m even more curious as to what those missing bits were to begin with. One theory is that they are casualty markers from another faction. I wonder who they could be from…
The next shot is actually really clever misdirection. It’s the left over sprues in the the “Green Dust Bin” that had people wondering what is in there:
That top sprue is the Chaos Vehicle upgrade sprue. The Havoc launcher is a dead give-away. There are also some Warriors of Chaos hand weapons to the bottom left. It’s funny to me because my bits bin at home as some of the exact same spures…Anyways, it’s all Chaos related sprues – maybe GW is trying to tell us that Chaos is garbage? Nah – I’m pretty sure it’s just something to keep the theme going. After all, pretty much everything they showed off was Chaos related.
Anyhow, the last big reveal was that Eddie handles the “daily routine security check of all the bins” …Just kidding. It was Magnus:
One interesting note is that the “super secret bin” is red and the background of the “leaked” pic was also red:
There also was mention of Plastic Sisters of Battle – was that a joke or a hint? You never can tell… But I prefer to go with what we do know:
- New Thousand Sons Art
- New Thousand Sons Sprues
- New Daemon Primarch Magnus The Red
Everything else at this point is just speculation! But what do you think internet detectives? What else did you notice in the video?
Recycling is very important…
