Overview: White Dwarf – October 2016
The October White Dwarf is out – Curious about what’s inside? Come take a peek at the new magazine!
Games Workshop’s latest White Dwarf has a lot of really great stuff inside this month – is it worth your money? You be the judge:
The “Free” item this month is issue “00” for the new Warhammer 40,000 Comic: Will of Iron. If you want to get another monthly 40k fix, check out the comic series from Titan Comics. You can check out our initial story of that right here.
As for the rest of the White Dwarf – here’s a quick look at the table of contents:
The issue is pretty jam packed with all things Games Workshop. Flipping through, this issue was heavy on the pictures of miniatures. There were some great shots from this year’s Golden Demon, pictures from the Armies on Parade & those crazy displays, and also tons of pics from the new Genestealer Cults, and a very thematic Blanchitsu.
The October White Dwarf also has a custom mission to play. It’s thematically appropriate for the Genestealer Cults, but you could use it for any army realistically. The 3 Big features this month involved the new Genestealer Cults, a feature on the Space Wolves’ Strike Force Mjalnar, and one of the largest plastic kits GW has ever made – Smaug.
Overall – I would have liked to see more features like last month’s with extra rules for all their board games, but you can’t always get what you want. It’s not a bad buy by any means – especially if you’re looking for some modeling inspiration! The October White Dwarf is out now, so go check it out.
