A group of astronauts take on terrifying alien life from Mars in this new movie.

Daniel Espinosa‘s latest project is based on a screenplay by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick – both worked on Deadpool and Zombieland, which is why this trailer might be a wee bit surprising. Synopsis…

Life tells the story of the six-member crew of the International Space Station that is on the cutting edge of one of the most important discoveries in human history: the first evidence of extraterrestrial life on Mars. As the crew begins to conduct research, their methods end up having unintended consequences and the life form proves more intelligent than anyone ever expected.

It feels like we’ve been there, done that with this particular genre – Scott is putting out another in the Alien series that started it all next year, as well. I’m hoping they’re keeping something out of this trailer that will differentiate it from the rest of the ‘super predator alien kills the space craft crew’ movie pack. Espinosa has focused on thrillers so far – maybe there’s an interesting twist in there.
