Menoth: High Exemplar Kreoss Pushes You Over
The classic pop and drop caster gets a new look. Check out Menoths new Kreoss in Mk.3
The caster needs no introduction and is Menoth’s classic assassin caster. He also got better by default just because of the power up rule.
To change up the pace instead of breaking down this classic models abilities lets talk about the Pop and Drop and maybe some ways to counter it.
The Pop and Drop:
The Pop is referring to Kreoss feat. Popping feat aka Menoth’ Wrath has scarred many of Menoths opponents. Having everything knocked down in Kreoss control area will obliterate the unprepared and has won many a game.
The Drop is usually the ranged threat that Kreoss is packing. Multiple warjacks effectively auto-hitting your knocked down models with only a defense of 5. Redeemers have a high threat range and with a walking SPD 5″ and a RNG 16″ gun. With Choir assistance these guns clock in with 3 shots at POW14 for a mere 11 points. What usually makes the Redeemer swallowable is the RAT 1 shots have little chance of hitting. However, combined with Knockdown the Redeemer’s accuracy is without question.
On top of all this Kreoss is armed with the back breaker spell Purification. So, even if you have some sort of ranged safety like Stealth because of Occulation, or a Animus like safeguard to prevent you from being knocked down, Kreoss can just remove it and finish the job.
Example Pop and Drop List:
The list below is a ranged nightmare. On top of that it has decent zone control with Tristan’s armored up Templar and the 20 shield wall pikes. This list can really lay down some serious firepower and clean up the leftovers with its melee weapons.

Some Anti Pop and Drop:
Not every thing can be purified by Kreoss thankfully.
He also has a fixed threat of 19″ without throw shennanigans. So you have a few options to combat the Pop and Drop.
Stay away:
– In non killbox scenarios keep your caster safe and out of the 19″ threat.
Out threat:
– Cygnar and Khador can easily match Kreoss threat with 20″+ threats of their own. Lylth 3 on the sled threathens 23″
Natural protection:
– Models with innate stealth will be quite safe from direct hits without Menoth’s Sight.
– Models with innate Steady or GroundWork will not lose there defense during Kreoss feat making the Redeemers not that useful.
FEATS:
– Feats like Rask or Khaelyssa’s can protect your army before it gets there and other feats that prevent knockdowns are also useful.
