Geekery: Pandora – The World of Avatar
The alien world from Avatar is coming to Disney World next summer.
It’s been 7 years since the movie hit theaters, and soon you can immerse yourself in the world of the Na’vi at Disney World.
The 12 acre project was announced in 2011, and construction started in 2014. It replaces Camp Minnie-Mickey in Disney’s Animal Kingdom, and houses two large attractions along side themed shops and restaurants.
Windtraders offers Na’vi cultural items, toys, science kits, etc.
Satu’li Canteen is the main restaurant and will showcase Na’vi art.
Avatar: Flight of Passage is a flight simulator that will teach guests to ride a mountain Banshee.
Na’vi River Journey takes guests on a boat ride through Pandora – they’ll get to see all of the planet’s wonders in an immersive experience.
Pandora joins new Marvel and Star Wars related attractions – Disney is definitely trying to change things up to excite for a new generation of guests.
