Khador Victor: INCOMING…BOOM!
Victor stands for victory. Start shooting at your opponent turn 1 with Khador’s new colossal. Keep your head down!
What Is It?
Victor is the brand new colossal for Khador. It has been a long time coming. It costs 38 points. Victor has an FA:2.
He can affect the game turn 1 with a very long range mortar. He also has some utility because of the different shots the mortar can use.
What is Victor Armed With?
Victor is built on the same chassis that Conquest is. So they have some similarities. They both are rather slow at SPD4. They both have very powerful melee fists in the 22+ POW area. And in true Khadorian fashion they have a bunch of damage boxes on their grid.
But, the guns is where they differ the most.
While Conquest clears infantry with multiple AOE’s and disrupts models with critical devastations, Victor uses a very long range mortar to demoralize the enemy.
Victor is armed with a Range 20″ POW 15 mortar AOE 5″. It has 3 special shots:
-Rift: This leaves a rough terrain template. It can slow down no pathfinder models and will kill most 1 box infantry with ARM14 and below.
-Flare: Reveals stealth models and -2 Defense. If for some reason the stealth models live through the blast damage they can be seen for a turn for more shooting to clear them off.
-Incendary: FIRE for everybody! This can be pretty demoralizing for your opponent if they haven’t unpacked and you land a 5″ pieplate of continous fire in the middle of it.
There is a downside to the mortar though. It is inaccurate which means Victor will be at RAT0 for most shots. Khador does have access to ranged knockdowns through the Winterguard field gun and you might consider it to combo with Victor.
While the mortar is quite impressive it isn’t the only offensive ranged weapons Victor is sporting.
Victor is amred with 2 anti flying model guns. He gets an additional dice to hit versus models with the flight ability. This is great timing because UNA is already started her bird hazings on the warma/hordes world.
Victor In a List:
Colossals are kind of out of fashion right now. They only get 1 focus from powerup so you get less bang for your buck point for point. Harkevich however can really push these guys to the limit. His broadside spell lets you fire both 5″ AOE’s potentially twice a turn. He has a +2 SPD buff for the 2 big guys to keep up with the faster models. And finally his feat makes the armor respectable!
The combo here is use Victor to flare the models you want to shoot at with conquest lowering defense or revealing the stealth to finish them off.
Khador Army – 75 / 75 points
(Harkevich 1) Kommander Harkevich, The Iron Wolf [+28]
– Victor [38]
– Conquest [37]
Winter Guard Rifle Corps (max) [13]
Kovnik Jozef Grigorovich [4]
Widowmaker Scouts [8]
Battle Mechaniks (min) [3]
Revenant’s Final Thoughts:
I think Victor is really useful with his mortar. The flare can win you games by lowering high defense models or revealing them. Plus, setting things on fire from 20″ away is fun too! I give Victor a B- because he while he very powerful , he is slow and inaccurate which is a lot of points to invest.
