Geekery: Twin Peaks Returns May 21st
We’ve been waiting nearly 3 years for an announcement…
The last episode in the second season of Twin Peaks aired on June 10, 1991. The 30 episode run changed television forever – it paved the way for shows like the X-Files, The Sopranos, Lost, Hannibal, and True Detective. It gave the medium permission to be cinematic and weird. Its style of story telling reshaped the police procedural, and redefined how serialization works.
The new season premiers Sunday May 21st. We’re getting 18 episodes edited by David Lynch and Duwayne Dunham. They’re filled with a massive cast list that has some familiar faces and a assortment of new ones.
It looks like we’ll be getting a series of teasers for each main character, so far we have Gordon and Dale:
