The Changer of Ways, the Master of Fortune, the Great Conspirator and the Architect of Fate – these are just some of the names of Tzeentch. A brother god to Nurgle, Khorne and Slaanesh, and often an ally of the Horned Rat, he is the undisputed master of the arcane arts. His followers, daemon and mortal alike, swarm over the mortal realms in scintillating glory, searing the land with coruscating flames of change. Tzaangor tribes raid ancient places of knowledge while mortal cultists work in secret to advance their god’s unknowable goals. Tzeentch’s plans are manifold, and he revels in watching each unravel.

The 136-page Hardback Battletome: Disciples of Tzeentch contains:

Kairic Acolytes $50

99120201063_KairicAcolytes09

Human cultists of Tzeentch, Chanters of Change, the Kairic Acolytes have made dire sacrifices for the promise of knowledge and power, spending decades becoming worthy enough to attempt the Kairic Test of Nine. They walk amongst the unsuspecting, remaining covert, waiting patiently until the correct time to strike. When that time comes, they hurl their collective magical might in the form of searing bolts, punishing those who survive with sinister curved blades.

This multi-part plastic kit contains the components necessary to assemble 20 Kairic Acolytes. Each Acolyte is armed with either a cursed blade, a pair of cursed blades or a cursed blade and arcanite shield. The kit includes 20 face masks – any one of these can be applied to any one model, meaning every unit of 20 can be completely unique.

Ogroid Thaumaturge $41

99120201062_OgroidThaumaturge06

Very little is truly known about the Ogroid Thaumaturges – other than their fearsome prowess in combat. In their rage, their skin writhes with arcane energy, eldritch sigils blazing across their muscular frames. Multicoloured flames of Tzeentch erupt about them as they tear enemies apart with their bare hands, giving them the strength to pierce even sigmarite armour with their formidable horns. Most disturbingly, these creatures are no mere brutes but possessed of impressive sorcerous ability, hurling blasts of flaming energy at the foe.

Gaunt Summoner $25

99070201020_GauntSummoner05

Standing high in the favour of Tzeentch, Gaunt Summoners are sorcerers capable of shifting the tide of battle single-handedly. Luckily for Sigmar and his allies, there exist only nine of these immensely powerful beings. Each has been gifted with a changestaff and a key to one of the nine Silver Towers – lairs of hidden knowledge filled with secrets and traps. On the battlefield, they call forth daemons from the Realm of Chaos, engulf foes in sheets of flame and simply stab those who get too near with a mutation-causing warptongue blade.

Fatemaster $40

99800201043_Fatemaster01

Not merely powerful warriors, but living conduits of reality-twisting energies, Fatemasters are those who control the destinies of battle. Some lead covens, some dedicate themselves to specialised individual roles, and others yet command entire cults. In battle, they streak into the fray on Discs of Tzeentch, swooping down to deliver precision strikes, hostile attacks rebounding from their gleaming shields. Their most powerful weapon, though, is their ability to affect the very universal laws of causality – shifting reality to a state in which friendly blades correctly seek their targets, or enemy arrows find naught but air. Few can fight against those who master fate.

This resin kit contains the components necessary to assemble a Fatemaster, riding a Disc of Tzeentch and wielding a fireglaive of Tzeentch and soulbound shield.

9 components are included, supplied with a Citadel 40mm Round base and 2 small flying stems.

This large dice cube contains 18 16mm dice. They feature 2 different designs, dark blue with light blue markings, and dark blue with gold markings – 9 of each design are supplied (the keen-eyed will notice that 9 is the number of Tzeentch).

THE STORY
Excelsis is the city of secrets, a grand and imposing bastion of civilisation in the savage Realm of Beasts. Within its winding streets and shadowy back alleys, merchants deal in raw prophecy mined from an ancient fragment of the World That Was, and even the poorest man may earn a glimpse of the future. Yet not all such prophecies can be trusted. When Corporal Armand Callis of the city guard stumbles upon a dark secret, he finds himself on the run from his former comrades, framed for a crime he did not commit. Only the Witch Hunter Hanniver Toll knows the truth of his innocence. Together the pair must race against time to save Excelsis from a cataclysm that would drown the city in madness and fear.

It’s an in depth look at life in a city of the Mortal Realms coupled with a rip-roaring tale of action and adventure, not to mention a most intriguing mystery, as you might expect of the City of Secrets…
