Open Thread: Fracture of Biel-Tan Theories
The Eldar “god of the dead” is coming and the title says it all – this does not bode well for Biel-Tan.
If you haven’t seen The Gathering Storm II: Fracture of Biel-Tan trailer yet, here it is again just so it can sink in:
We got to take a look at all three of the new models coming out already as well. What I want to focus on, however, is the name of the second book in “The Gathering Storm” – that name is Fracture of Biel-Tan.
Consider that the previous book was Fall of Cadia and now that it’s been out, it’s clear to see that these titles aren’t misleading.
What’s in store for the Biel-Tan? Well, again, based on the title…nothing good! The Biel-Tan Eldar are the inhabitants of the Biel-Tan Craftworld. They are know for their militancy and their warhost known as Bahzhakhain which means “Swordwind“. The Biel-Tan craftworld is also home to more Aspect Warriors than any other craftworld.
“The symbolic rune of Biel-Tan stands for reincarnation, a fate previously thought reserved for every Eldar before the Fall. The rune roughly translates as Rebirth of Ancient Days, reflecting the intention of the Craftworld to see their former empire restored”
We have a craftworld famed for it’s Aspect Warriors, a rune that represents “reincarnation” and the appearance of The Yncarne, Avatar of Ynnead – the god of the dead.
So what does this all mean? Could it mean the destruction of Biel-Tan – like Cadia? Could it mean parts of the Biel-Tan break off to form something new? What about the appearance of the other models: Yvraine, Emissary of Ynneada and The Visarch, Sword of Ynnead?
Also, let’s not forget what’s at the center of the Biel-Tan craftworld: The Chamber of Heroes.
“At the centre of Biel-tan is the Chamber of Heroes where the spirit stones of dead Aspect Warriors are placed. Farseers often come to this room to consult the dead on courses of action.”
And what are those “gems” floating around the Avatar of Ynnead if not spirit stones?
All we truly know at this point is that something is going to happen to the Eldar of Biel-Tan and it’s very clear that Ynnead is coming. We’ve all got lots of questions and theories bouncing around. But I advise folks to take this in stride because it’s all conjecture at this point. That said, we can still have some fun with it!
I am very curious as to why this Avatar of Ynnead shares aspects of the Chaos God Slaanesh as well. Perhaps it’s not that Ynnead’s Avatar shares aspects of Slaanesh, but rather that Slaanesh shares aspects of the Eldar…They did birth Slaanesh after-all.
What do you think: Is “Fracture of Biel-Tan” a sign of the destruction for the Eldar or do you think something else is happening?
Let us know your crazy theories in the comments below! Consider this an open thread, but play nice…
