40K: The Visarch & Yvraine – A Closer Look
Games Workshop showcases two of the deadly new characters from the Triumvirate of Ynnead…
Warhammer TV has two new videos talking about two of the members of the Triumvirate: The Visarch and Yvraine. Not only are these sources of good bits of background, but we’ve also got Phil Kelly talking about each of these characters and some of their special abilities – take a look:
The Visarch is Yvraine’s chosen champion. He epitomises the matchless grace of the Aeldari in form as well as deed. Clad in baroque armour of the ancient Bel-Anshoc style, the Viasarch wears many faces upon his battle place, just as he channels many souls within his mortal form.
The Visarch has some pretty sweet abilities. His Sword has aura of silence that messes with folks within range. Plus he’s got some “soul-siphon” ability that allows him to heal wounds and if he kills a character he can gain extra attacks as well. The Visarch functions as a bodyguard to Yvraine so he can also take wounds for her – more on that in the video above so be sure to watch it for all the info direct from Phil Kelly starting at 2:19.
Yvraine, Daughter of Shades, walks with regal grace across a waste-ground of corpses. Clad in the style of the ancient Aeldari and accompanied by a psychic familiar known as a Gyrinx, Yvraine is a magnificent sight, her courtly attire and perfect poise commanding respect.
The Emissary of Ynnead, Yvraine’s rules are also sounding pretty solid! The Soulburst ability is a new ability for all the the Aeldari faction – they will get to preform another action when a unit dies within a radius around them. This can lead to some crazy domino effects of units triggering other units. She’s also got access to a new psychic discipline “Revenant” which is described as being themed around spirit/soul magic and death. Get the full run down from Phil Kelly starting at 2:26.
Ynnead’s forces gather – But are they the saviors they claim to be…
