Tabletop Spotlight: Lord of Change
The new Lord of Change kit is here and the Big-Bird has some fancy new upgrades!
The Tabletop Spotlight is on the new Lord of Change kit and Games Workshop did NOT disappoint!
First off, this is a dual kit – you can create a single Lord of Change or you can use it to build Kairos Fateweaver. Either option is based off the same body but you’ll be able to customize the rest of the model a fair bit. Surprisingly, those options to customize the model were more abundant than I was expecting.
You get a few different arm swaps, different heads, different weapons, and tons of smaller doo-dads you can use to customize your Lord of Change. While this combination isn’t quite unlimited, there are enough options that players will be able to build a couple of these kits and have them look unique – at least in their army.
I really think this kit is fantastic and I can’t wait to see what else the community does with it. GW’s Duncan has already gotten his painting guide up for this beast so if you’re going to take a crack at it, you might want to watch it just for any tips he has.
I could keep gushing on how good this kit is but there is another facet I wanted to mention – also included in this box are the rules for both Age of Sigmar and 40k. Now you can get the AoS Rules for Kairos and the Lord of Change online from GW (or via the AoS App) but having the 40k rules included was a nice touch.
Overall if you’re playing a Tzeentch Daemon force for either 40k or AoS then I think this kit is a must buy. You’re going to want to have the Lord of Change or Kairos as an option for your army (and in the case of one formation you’ll need like 5 of them). But apart from that, this model is your big “Centerpiece” model. It’s going to be one that the Hobby crowd goes crazy for and one that the competitive players are going to want, too. It’s out now so what are you waiting for!?

The greatest of Tzeentch’s daemons, the Lords of Change shimmer with raw magic. With a flick of its claw, a Lord of Change can hurl foes into nightmares, or blast enemies with the wyrdfires of Tzeentch. Such canny creatures can steal opponents’ spells for their own use, or send mutating rays from their rod of sorcery to destroy entire enemy formations.
This multi-part plastic kit contains the components necessary to assemble a Lord of Change. A huge, imposing model, he makes an ideal centrepiece for any Tzeentchian army, covered as he is in the symbolism of Tzeentch that marks him out as a true master of magic. His enormous wings can be modelled in 2 different positions, and he features a choice of 3 different, sinister heads. He wields a staff of Tzeentch, which can be topped with either a symbol of Tzeentch or a flame blade; or can alternatively wield a baleful sword and Tzeentchian wand. He is accompanied by 2 Brimstone Horrors, which can be added to his base.
