Geekery: New ‘American Gods’ Trailer
The bloody battle between gods begins in this new trailer.
The photos released earlier this week were just a teaser. Note: this has some profanity, so may not be work/kid safe.
We get a look at some of the new gods: Technical Boy (Bruce Langley) and Mr. World (Crispin Glover), Gillian Anderson as Media is sadly missing. And some of the old gods are featured including Vulcan (Corbin Bernsen), Zorya Vechernyaya (Cloris Leachman), Bilquis (Yetide Badaki), Mr. Nancy (Orlando Jones), Mad Sweeney (Pablo Schreiber), Easter (Kristin Chenoweth) and Czernobog (Peter Stormare). There are more on the cast list – including multiple versions of Jesus.
The more I see, the more I’m looking forward to this. Fuller and Green’s character additions seem to be a good fit for the story, and it doesn’t pass on the weirder parts of the universe Gaiman created in the novel.
American Gods premiers on Starz at 9pm, April 30th.
