At long last, the next ships for Star Wars Armada have been revealed. You Rogue One fans will be very happy!

We have two new releases coming for Wave 6, one Rebel and one Imperial. These are slated to ship in Q2.

Hammerhead Corvettes Expansion Pack $39.95

Brace for impact with the Hammerhead Corvettes Expansion Pack for Star Wars™: Armada! Named for its distinctive silhouette, the Hammerhead corvette is officially classed as a transport, but features combat-worthy engines, hull, and armament. Often fielded in groups by the Rebellion, Hammerheads lend themselves to formation tactics with their agility and responsiveness. You’ll be able to explore some of these formation tactics with the expansion’s two pre-painted Hammerhead miniatures, and you’ll find them supported by two ship cards, as well as a full complement of fourteen upgrade cards heavily focused on close-range combat!

Imperial Light Carrier Expansion Pack $29.95

The Imperial Light Carrier Expansion Pack introduces one pre-painted Quasar Fire-class cruiser-carrier miniature to your games of Star Wars™: Armada. A mobile starfighter base frequently used as a garrison vessel, the Imperial light carrier bristles with laser turrets that allow it to defend itself while its fighter craft are away on crucial missions. It comes supported by two ship cards and a total of ten upgrades, including a dual-slotted Weapons Team / Offensive Retrofit upgrade that allows you to disrupt your opponent’s ships with the game’s first boarding action!

Thoughts:

The addition of a small ship with Squadron:4 is intriguing.

More interesting is the boxing of the Hammerheads as a pair.  Hmmm.

Boarding is going to be a thing – and I say – ABOUT TIME FFG!

Dual-slot upgrades are bulky to equip, using up both the required slots, but the cards we’ve seen look like they are worth it.
