Goatboy’s Age of Sigmar: Lists for the Blood God
Goatboy here with my latest Khornate Age of Sigmar masterpiece – its JUGGERTIME!
Goatboy here again and if you’ve read my nonsense for awhile you know I am totally enamored with anything dealing with the powers of Chaos. I don’t know what it is – but I have always had a lot more fun playing games as the bad guys. I think its really because their outfits are a heck of a lot cooler but hey – its always been this way. Plus – painting bad guys is just so much cooler then the clean jerks who always tell you what to do. With that in mind the AOS bug has hit me pretty well and since the last book I got my mitts on is the Blades of Khorne – or as I like to call it the GW figured out how to get Goatboy’s attention by letting me have a full army of Juggernauts of Khorne.
If you haven’t figure it out – this is an army list post all about how to use and abuse the new sets of rules from the Blades of Khorne book. These armies are probably not the best out of the book as they sit in the realm of – pick Goatboy’s favorite model and duplicate it a ton of times till he cackles immensely and his wife wonders what the heck he is doing. The new book dumps two different Juggernaut formations both with their own bonuses. One feels a bit more capable of getting a ton of other army bonus help while one is severely locked into the Daemon side of things. Both have a crap ton of Juggernauts which means both have aspects I love. Will start with the one I think looks better as its full of a ton of Skull Crushers – aka the heavily converted Counts as Thunderwolf from the 40k universe.
The Brass Stampede
First Formation is the Brass Stampede. It is based on having one Mighty Khorne Lord on a Jugger followed by 3-7 units of Skull Crushers. Besides having all the cool guys in one fat formation that can hit the table top it gives you some pretty sweet set of rules. Avalanche of Brass means if you started the battle with the maximum number of units (aka 7 units of Juggerlo’s and the Khorne Lord) you roll a dice for any enemy unit within 3″ during your hero phase and on a 2+ they take d3 Mortal wounds. Blood Scent is also pretty neat as it gives you an extra 3″ to charges if you killed a unit or one of your own got wiped out. Obliterating Charge though is pretty rad as well. If you end within 3″ of another unit in the Brass Stampede when you used your Murderous Charge ability you automatically inflict d3 mortal wounds or d6 if the unit numbers 6 or more. Basically this army wants to move, charges, and hopefully stomp crap into a mudhole for Khrone. The other sweet bit of frosting on this butt kicking cake is if you make the Khorne Lord on a Juggernaut your warlord – your Skull Crushers become troops. And this my friend is how you get your army full created for Matched Play.
Let’s throw this together and see if we can get something mean.

Skullcrushers X 3, Ensorcelled Axes X 3, Standard Bearer, Hornblower
Bloodsecrator, Banner of Blood

Lord of Khorne on a Juggernaut, Gorecleaver
Tactics
This army is just about setting up as many monsters on the table, pushing forward, and crushing things under the weight of your brass clad monsters. Will call this the Juggerlo army and they are all about taking names, taking skulls, and bringing the good word of Khorne to all those non believers. I doubt it is super good but it feels like it would be cool and maybe get lucky with some match ups – especially if you gets there with all its pluses to charge. The mortal wound output can be pretty nutty too with so many units causing end of phase wounds as they stomp around and try to create some kind of off broadway sound show.
Murderhost
The Next list is using the lovely named Murderhost formation. Just like the Brass Stampede this one is made up of some kind of Khorne Herald hero followed by 3-8 units of either Blood Crushers, Flesh Hounds, Bloodletters, and Skull Cannons. The big benefit is everyone in the formation gets a free 2d6 move at the beginning of the battle. If you happen to take the full amount of units (7 daemon bros and 1 hero) you get to move 2d6 every hero phase. Let that sink in a bit and figure out how fast you can be. This is pretty nutty and I think will be the lynchpin to a ton of Khorne based Armies. Of course as I am only thinking about things with Juggernauts my army will not nearly be as devastating as you could make it. It also means I won’t be combing into some Bloodbound guys as if you take a Khorne Herald on a Juggernaut and your warlord you can make your Blood Crushers troops.
Murderhost Formation
Skullmaster – Herald of Khorne, The Crimson Crown
Bloodcrushers X 3, Icon/Hornblower
Bloodcrushers X 3, Icon/Hornblower
Bloodcrushers X 3, Icon/Hornblower

Tactics
This army is all about being fast. I bet just having a ton of Flesh Hounds would work better then Bloodcrushers – but I need to play a lot. I had to go down on how many just to fit in the 3 Thirsters to go around and do their work. Being able to chain out a ton of Command Traits is going to be pretty rad – as well as all the exploding Mortal wounds as things get mixed in. Plus – it is 3 Thirsters and a table top full of doggies. Also – you will probably go first as you will have 2 drops to put down versus most of the other armies. The annoying thing is to get the Crushers this way you miss out on using some of the Bloodbound fun but hey – these lists are more about a theme – and that them is spending too much money on Juggernauts.
I wish some of these rules were in 40k with the KDK armies and World Eaters.
~Still the dream can happen if the new edition of 40k matches a lot of the fun and sheer insanity of AoS.
