40K: Top 5 Vehicles We Want To See Rules For
Vehicles are getting some big changes – here are the Five Vehicles we are most anxious to see the rules for!
In case you missed it, Games Workshop just showed off the teaser for how vehicles will work in 8th. Turns out they will be very similar to Large Creatures – which, we all kind of expected. However, there are a few vehicles around the galaxy that we are VERY curious to learn more about – here they are in no particular order:
The Space Marine Rhino
The humble Rhino is really the base-line vehicle in our collective opinion. It was this or the Chimera really. Once we see how this vehicle is stated out, pointed and given rules we’ll all know what to compare other vehicles too.
The Stormraven Gunship
There has been a distinct lack of news about flyers and how they will function in 8th. I know that I’m VERY interested to see how they will work and I think the Stormraven is a good canidate because it’s one of those base-line flyers. It also fulfills different battlefield roles and it had some funky rules, too! How will this and other flyers work in 8th?!
The Eldar Wave Serpent
Let’s not dismiss the reign of terror this bad boy had in 6th-7th, at least for a while. The Serpent Shield ruled with a Tyrant’s fist and I want to know how it will function in 8th. On top of that, the Wave Serpent troop capacity and disembark point was always interesting. Now, without Armor Values, folks just might fly it backwards to get those troopers out – anyone else wondering how that will work? I know it’s got me curious!
Blood Angels Furioso Dreadnought
Folks have been clamoring for Games Workshop to make Dreadnoughts good for this edition. I’m also a fan of them and in particular the Blood Angels Furioso Dreadnought. Oh and let’s not forget the other variants – The Death Company Dread and the Librarian Dread. Also the Flakk Cannon – it had rending before with 2 shots – what is that going to look like!? 2d6 shots? Still Str 6? I’ve got questions man!
Ork Battlewagon
And I quote:
“…get hit by a Deathroller, for example, and prepare to be a pancake.”
Uh…you have my attention! Plus, now that we know vehicles will have crazy stats like creatures, and Ork Vehicles in particular:
“Ork vehicles can be kitted out with some pretty deadly close combat options, which now function just like any other specialist close combat weapon”
Need I say more!?
Bonus: Catacomb Command Barge
The Chariot rules were/are weird in 7th. Look, I just what to know how it’s going to function in 8th. Will it be another split-profile thing? Who get’s to assign the wounds this time? Plus, how will that interact with the Will Be Back Rolls? This thing was a weird one and I hope it’s been cleaned-up in 8th.
Bonus Bonus: Drop Pod
After the reserves rules dropped, everyone wanted to know how these transports will work. We still wanna know! Plus – Drop Pods are kind of a big deal…and I didn’t want to leave them off the list.
